Our Favourite Smoothie Recipes

September 27, 2017 by Gail Asbell

As we move into Spring, we’re excited about getting our blenders out once again and serving up some thick and creamy, healthy smoothies. Whether you serve them in a bowl with heaps of toppings or on the go as you leave the house, we love all smoothies. We love to get inspiration from all over and here are some of our go-to recipes from our favourite bloggers and recipe developers.

Creamy Almond Butter Acai Bowl from Jessica Sepel

Jessica Sepel makes a mean smoothie and smoothie bowl and this one is no different. Filled with almond butter, bananas, acai, berries, and coconut milk, it will certainly keep you full all morning. Plus you can the top it with whatever you fancy – we like more almond butter, banana, and coconut.

Full Fat and Extra Creamy Smoothie by Naturo Medico

While bananas are often the hero of a good creamy smoothie, this one allows for a higher fat content and a lower carb and sugar content but using avocado instead of banana. Avocados are also great when managing blood sugar, so you’ll stay full until the next meal.

Kiwi blueberry mousse smoothie by I Quit Sugar

This two-layer smoothie is filled with antioxidants, good fats, protein, and kiwi fruit,

 – Which are great for your digestion. It’s fun to make and looks great, perfect for the whole family. And if you entertain at breakfast time, you’ll also impress your guests with the two toned look this smoothie gives.

Beet, berry, and cacao smoothie by Body Good Food

If you’re trying to lower the fruit content of your morning smoothie, this guy is for you. A small amount of strawberries (very low sugar fruit) are combined with beetroot, goji berries, protein, cashews, cacao, chia seeds, and coconut milk. Together this creates a vey nutritionally balanced meal with good fats and protein in there.
