An experience where we sweat, challenge ourselves and create friendships. It’s not about being the best or looking the best. It’s about creating a positive state of mind every time we hit the mat. We’re here to laugh, enjoy and not take ourselves to seriously.

Our studios are modern and welcoming and our teachers are passionate and inspiring. They will help you have the ultimate yoga and pilates class. From first time to advanced, everyone is welcome. Our class styles are completely beginner friendly, we recommend you start with the 30 Day Introductory Offer and have fun trying all our class styles.

Bikram Yoga

Hail the original hot yoga. The one that doesn’t mess around. You’re going to sweat, you’re going to challenge yourself and you’re going to go deeper. And you’re going to do it all in 40 degree goodness. Empowering consistency, these 60 or 90-minute classes are ideal for tracking and improving flexibility, strength and balance.


Power Flow

Move with the flow. Here’s where we delve deep into the dynamic world of vinyasa. This modern sequence favours presence, alignment and connection, and we add exceptional backing tunes to keep you in the zen zone. It’s a balanced blend of simple but strong movements, and it all goes down in a 34 degree room.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga. Feeling out of balance? Your busy ‘yang’ day is craving a serving of yin. This peaceful practice awakens and rebalances the physical and emotional self. Long holds work deep to unlock tension and cultivate stillness. These classes are like a lovely hug, practiced in a warm room with music to help you melt.

Yin Roll & Release. Roll up and release. This dreamy self-massage session uses therapy balls and myofascial techniques to ease tension in hips, back, neck and shoulders. Call it mindful magic. The yin elements leave you to slowly surrender, calming the nervous system and bringing balance back to the body and mind.

Sculpt Yoga

Add oomph to your om. We begin with a dynamic vinyasa flow, then up the engagement ante by adding in hand weights. No sleepy muscle is safe during this high-vibe workout. You’re targeting from head-to-toe, sculpting each muscle group along the way. A 34 degree room keeps your body warm while good tunes keep it moving.

Power Pilates

Work it to perk it. Step onto your mat and feel the fire as you dominate new depths. We’re looking at you: glutes, core and arms. A full body focus unleashes the intensity, with a specialised pilates sequence and hand weights fusing to target, tone and strengthen. Glow along with equal parts happiness and determination in the 34 degree room.



Cardio Reformer

Reach for your cardio crown. We add the jump board to your reformer to get your heart racing and have you shining your sweaty best. You’ll spring through a fast-paced combination of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and strengthening exercises targeting your core, glutes and legs. Upbeat tunes energetically escort you to strength town.

Power Reformer

Our irresistible offering. Push or pull against the resistance of the reformer, building strength as you power through a series of toning exercises. We follow the reformer principles, but turn up the intensity for the ultimate outcome. The added boost will define your core, sculpt your muscles and improve your flexibility. Now that’s our kind of reform school.

Hot Pilates


Time to HIIT the mat. A powerful synergy of mat pilates and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) awaits. This energetic mix will strengthen your core, tone your body and burn fat in one brilliant burst. We ramp the room up to 34 degrees so you can go deeper and and reap the ravishing rewards.


Only got 30 minutes? We’ll meet you halfway. Modelled off our Hot Pilates class, you’ll strengthen, tone and burn fat with an emphasis on High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) moves. And don’t be fooled by the timeframe, this class is not half hearted. Expect to work hard, sweat and feel some seriously good results.




The expert in anything was once a beginner. At Upstate there are no expectations and no prerequisites. You don’t need to able to touch your toes or balance on one leg. We welcome beginners with open arms and will guide you through the practice step by step. We’ll encourage you to rest when needed and teach you to listen to your body.


Hydration is key. Remember to drink lots of water prior to and after your class.


We encourage our new clients to arrive 10 minutes before class. We want to help you settle in and show you around before you begin your class.

Class check in opens 15 minutes before all reformer classes. Mat class check in opens 15 minutes before early morning classes (6am & 7am) and 30 minutes before all other mat class times.


For our mat classes you’ll need a yoga mat, large towel and a bottle of water for your practice. If you forget, no stress, we’ve got you covered. Both mat and towel hire is $2.

We provide bolsters and blocks for our yoga classes so you can get nice and comfy.

For our reformer classes just bring along some water. There is filtered water available or bottled water to purchase.


Let’s face it. If your coming along to one of our hot yoga or hot pilates classes you’re going to sweat. It’s the best part. Yin Yoga and Reformer classes are warm not hot, our best advice is to wear comfortable and light clothing.

Come along, be prepared and get ready for an empowering session.


Enjoy our spacious change rooms with toilets, showers, hair dryers and everything else you need pre and post class. We’ve also got lockers for your personal belongings.


Yoga is incredibly therapeutic and a great way to speed up the healing process. Before each class your teacher will ask if anyone has any injuries or if you like tell us before you get in there.  We’ll ensure you practice safely.

Our mat pilates classes offer a variety of modifications if you have an injury, speak to your teacher prior to class for advice on how modify for your body.

Our group reformer classes are best suited to those without injuries. Our reformer classes are athletic not rehabilitation classes and require you to be injury free.


Our classes are the perfect opportunity to get in shape, increase your fitness and flexibility. Regular and consistent practice will help you achieve any goal you have whether it be physical or mental. The combination of yoga and pilates can be amazingly transformational for both the body and the mind.


Upstate is about a positive state of mind for sisters and business partners Gail and Charelle. It’s more than just a class, it’s creating a lifestyle you love. It’s about challenging yourself, whilst also getting quiet right here, right now to empower yourself to live loud and stretch into your full potential.

Gail and Charelle have been teaching yoga for over a decade and opened their first studio in 2009. Both suffered from early disc degeneration and back pain, practicing yoga and pilates in a heated room has transformed their lives physically and mentally.

We want people to live the best life possible physically, mentally and emotionally. When you get here you will see what all the fuss is about, an experience where we sweat, smile and challenge – without taking ourselves too seriously, to thrive and be happy!



Create a team ritual with private classes in our Geelong and/or Torquay studios or we can come to your workplace.


$200 for classes at Upstate or your workplace.


Can we mix up our classes with different styles? Absolutely you can choose any combination of class styles.
What facilities are available at your studios? Our studios have spacious change room facilities, showers and hair dryers. Towels are available for hire.
If we come to your studios are the classes going to be in the heat? Heat is optional for all classes.
